The Ravidas and Valmiki Samaj leaders of Jalandhar have not withdrawn the bandh call, although the leaders of the same community from Amritsar have withdrawn the bandh call after meeting with the Chief Minister.
A complete shutdown will be observed today in Jalandhar.
Jassi Talhan of Ravidas Tiger Force added that the Advocate General, Anmol Ratan Sidhu has made demeaning remarks on the scheduled caste community.
A case will be registered against Anmol Ratan Mann under the SC-ST Act.
He further added that the people of the community in Amritsar have withdrawn the bandh call after talking to the CM, but this is without the consent of the Jalandhar community because of which they are still firm on their decision.
He impressed upon the point that a meeting of both communities has been held in Jalandhar’s Circuit House regarding the bandh in which this unanimous decision was taken.
He quoted, “the bandh has got the support of the shopkeepers’ association in Jalandhar. They have decided to keep the shops closed in their support.” Jassi Talhan has appealed to all the institutions to keep themselves closed.
Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has tried to hold a meeting in Chandigarh, but the Chief Minister did not attend it. He tried to pacify the whole issue at his level but in vain.

Advocate General, Anmol Ratan Singh, while giving his opinion on the job of the SC category remarked that the posts on which these people are appointed are not suitable for them.
This statement and piece of opinion by him has shown the hatred the Advocate General has towards the people belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
