As per the latest updates, almost 50% of the voters have already cast their votes, and the voting process is underway in full swing.

The Jalandhar bypoll elections are being held for nine assembly seats, namely Nakodar, Phillaur, Kartarpur, Adampur, Shahkot, Jalandhar North, Jalandhar Cantt, Jalandhar Central, and Jalandhar West.

However, Jalandhar Central has received the lowest votes of 45.3%, followed by Jalandhar Cantt with 45.9% and Adampur with 50.3%.

AAP MLA arrested for violating Election Commission's rules during Jalandhar bypoll, released on bail

Nakodar: 51.3%

Phillaur: 52.2%

Shahkot: 53.1%

One of the notable trends observed in these bypolls is that the rural areas are gaining more votes than the city areas. Constituencies like Shahkot and Phillaur, which are considered Congress strongholds, have received high votes, and more people have voted in those areas. On the other hand, the city areas like Jalandhar Central and Jalandhar Cantt have received comparatively low votes.

It is to be noted that more the people from rural areas vote the more majorly AAP and other political parties will get in trouble since these rural areas have a stronghold of Congress party.

From Shahkot, MLA is Hardev Singh Ladi from Indian National Congress and a high number of people have voted from this side. From Phillaur, Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary from Indian National Congress is MLA, and from this area too, 52.2% of people have voted. From Kartarpur, the MLA is Balkar Singh from Aam Aadmi Party, and that area too has seen major voters coming and voting, whereas areas like Jalandhar Central, where MLA is Raman Arora from Aam Aadmi Party, and Jalandhar Cantt, where MLA is Pargat Singh from Indian National Congress, and Jalandhar West, where MLA is Sheetal Angural from Aam Aadmi Party, have seen low votes.
