The vacancy of the Jalandhar municipal corporation commissioner has been filled. Commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Patiala, Aditya Uppal, IAS, has been transferred to Jalandhar and will take the office.
This acts as relief for Jalandhar citizens as the long time vacancy of the Jalandhar MC office resulted in poor maintenance of Jalandhar’s public infrastructure.
This was included in multiple transfers ordered by the Punjab Governor, which included 8 IAS officers and 11 PCS officers.
Other vacancies filled include Amritsar MC’s Commissioner Sh. Rahul, IAS, transferred to Bathinda against a vacant post; Ravinder Singh IAS has been posted as Managing Director of PEPSU Road Transport Corporation (PRTC); Naman Marken PCS has been posted as Regional Transport officer in Patiala, among others.
