 In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, a team from Crime Branch Jalandhar successfully apprehended an individual involved in heroin smuggling, leading to the recovery of 125 grams of heroin and Rs. 23,000.

Elaborating on the details, Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur stated that on 25 February 2025, during routine patrolling near Baba Budha Ji Nagar pull in Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar, the police team spotted an individual riding a black Platina motorcycle (registration number: PB09-AM-4351). The individual was detained for questioning, and upon searching, the police team recovered 125 grams of heroin and Rs. 23,000 from his possession. The suspect was identified as Manjinder Singh, alias Pita, son of Satpal Singh, a resident of village Dhere Kot, Jandiyala Guru, Amritsar, and currently residing in Mohalla Santput, Kapurthala.

She said the as a result of this FIR No. 42, dated 25.02.2025 was registered under Sections 21-61-85 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar. Additionally, the motorcycle bearing registration No. PB09-AM-4351 was seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur reaffirmed the department's steadfast commitment to eradicating the drug trade in Jalandhar. She assured that all necessary and effective measures would be taken to ensure the success of this mission.
