Today, on 26th December, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has apprehended three associates of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang after a brief encounter. The miscreants tried to fire at the police. Meanwhile, police fired back in self-defence, which involved an exchange of 15 rounds, one of the miscreants sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Giving information about the case, Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said that the accused was arrested yesterday in the case of firing on an AAP worker in village Jandiala Majki. Today, when his team reached to recover the weapon from the accused on his indication, the accused opened fire on the police team.
Police recovered a total of six weapons and a significant cache of ammunition, delivering a severe blow to the gang's criminal network involved in narcotics smuggling, arms trade, and extortion rackets. The bullet lodged in the foot of the miscreant. At present, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Swapna Sharma is going to the incident site.
The Police Commissioner said that the accused are residents of Jandiala and a total of 11 cases are registered against them. These accused work for Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. They have also committed many crimes in the nearby districts, which are not on record.
