Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has busted a gang involved in incidents of robbing in the city by arresting its kingpin.
Giving details the Commissioner of Police said that police party was stationed near Dev Dairy, Jalandhar, when they got a tip off that a gang involved in looting people was planing another crime. He said that the kingpin of the gang identified as Samon @ DC s/o Yunas Masih r/o Village Gakhlan Colony, Police Station Lambra, Jalandhar, was currently sitting in front of Ghuman Dairy. Mr Swapan Sharma said that subsequently raid was conducted and the accused was arrested from the spot.
The Commissioner of Police said that Police had recovered a mobile phone and a Datar from the accused and FIR No. 209 dated 29.12.2024 u/s 309(6), 3(5) BNS was registered at Police Station Basti Bawa Khel. He said that during investigation name of two other gang members identified as Sumit @ Matta r/o Angithian Wala Chowk Basti Danishmanda Jalandhar and Robin s/o Yunas Masih r/o Village Gakhlan Colony, Police Station Lambra Jalandhar, who were also associated with the gang have came into light. Mr Swapan Sharma said that further investigation of the case is going and details will be shared later.
