Jalandhar likely to be hottest in Punjab on THIS date; IMD warns for 'above normal heatwave days'

As India officially entered April 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast for the next three months. IMD in its weather forecast on Monday predicted that multiple states of India will witness scorching heat from April to June i.e. for 3 months. It means India will witness peak summers along with 'above normal' heatwave days. As per IMD, Punjab is also among the list of states that will witness above-normal heatwave days from April to June. As a result, True Scoop tried to dig more and found out that in the next week, Jalandhar is likely to be the hottest in Punjab. Below is everything you need to know- 

Jalandhar likely to be hottest in April's second week

Apple Weather App forecasts that in April's second week, temperatures in multiple cities of Punjab including Jalandhar will cross the 40°C mark. To be precise, the Apple Weather App predicts that next Thursday ( April 10) Jalandhar's maximum temperature will touch 43°C. Ludhiana's maximum temperature will remain constant at 40°C on next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. A similar forecast is for Amritsar. Gurdaspur will also witness a scorching temperature of 43°C on next Thursday (April 10).

It is pertinent to mention here that Jalandhar and Gurdaspur's maximum temperature are likely to be same. However, Jalandhar's minimum temperature on April 10 is expected to be 21°C and hence, it is likely to be hotter as compared to Gurdaspur.

Punjab Temperature as per IMD

As per IMD Chandigarh's daily forecast, Bathinda was the hottest in Punjab on March 31, 2025. Bathinda's maximum temperature soared up to 34.6°C on March 31. Amritsar's maximum temperature was 31°C, Ludhiana- 32.5°C, Patiala-33.4°C, Pathankot- 31.7°C, Gurdaspur- 32. 5°C, etc.
