Jalandhar likely to receive 'winter rain' on THIS date, temperature to fall below 5°C

Punjab Weather will soon change in the coming days, especially in major cities like Jalandhar, Ludhiana, etc as they may receive winter showers following which the mercury will dip below 5°C.

Slowly & steadily the winter season in Punjab is intensifying. Punjab winters which are famous for shivering people to their core due to chilly weather have not witnessed much cold weather as compared to previous years till now. However, Punjab Weather will soon change in the coming days, especially in major cities like Jalandhar, Ludhiana, etc as they may receive winter showers following which the mercury will dip below 5°C. 

IMD Chandigarh on Thursday issued a warning map projecting that cities like Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Sangrur, and Mansa may witness dense fog starting from December 7. In fact, Apple Weather App has forecasted that there are 50 percent chance of rainfall in Jalandhar on Monday i.e. December 9. Following December 9 i.e. after the rainfall, winter will intensify in Jalandhar with mercury dipping below 5°C.  As per the Apple Weather Forecast, Jalandhar will witness a minimum temperature of 4°C from December 10.

On December 3, some parts of Amritsar witnessed light showers, due to which the weather started to become chillier. According to the Meteorological Center, the Western Disturbance Turf has become active on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, but it is in a very weak state, due to which some areas of Amritsar witnessed rainfall. 

Which city was coldest in Punjab on December 5?

IMD Chandigarh shared a list of cities in Punjab and the minimum temperatures that were recorded. Amritsar witnessed a minimum temperature of 7.1°C, Ludhiana witnessed 8°C, Patiala witnessed 8.5°C, and Pathankot witnessed 6.8°C. With 4.5°C, Sangrur was the coldest region in Punjab on December 5.
