In what reflects the district administration's commitment to providing smooth and hassle-free citizen services through Sewa Kendras, Jalandhar district has maintained lowest pendency rate in state with only 0.02 percent pendency of total applications received at sewa Kendras in last eight months.
Hailing the efforts of entire team of district administration, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori stated that Administration had achieved this success by ensuring timely disposal of applications being filed by the citizens at Sewa Kendras, especially amid unprecedented health crisis posed by Covid-19 pandemic.
The DC said that on March 7, 2022, as many as 356616 applications were received by administration for around 330 services at all 33 Sewa Kendras, which were disposed of by the officials in a time-bound manner. Of these applications, only 0.02 percent i.e. 69 were pending for disposal.
Mr. Thori said that due to COVID-19 all requisite measures have been adopted in all Sewa Kendras for the safety and security of all including staff and applicants, adding the administration had also been rendering pre-booking slot facilities to ensure delivery of these services in a segregated manner.
The DC said that a viable mechanism had been evolved by the administration to achieve this goal through regular monitoring of pendency. He stated that regular review of pendency was being done at sub division and district level and departments having maximun pendency are called for explanation on a daily basis which resulted into 0.02 percent pendency in the district.
He also lauded the efforts of entire team of Jalandhar administration which was working earnestly to maintain this position. He directed the official to further take this pendency to zero percent in coming days.
