The mother and daughter, residents of Jalandhar district, were sold in Muscat by their relative, while both of them were given a job of 30000 rupees per month in Dubai. The daughter, who returned from Muscat after 2 months, stated that due to poverty at home, she and her mother had decided to go to Dubai. A relative who turned to a travel agent had asked for ₹1,200,00 to send them to Dubai, but the matter was settled at Rs. 80,000. They left for Muscat via Mumbai from Amritsar Airport on March 5, 2023, while her mother had reached Muscat on March 2. On reaching there, it was found that they had been given work in Muscat instead of Dubai.

When they protested, the travel agent took them to Dubai, where they were kept for 2 days. It was said that there was something wrong with their passport, due to which they could not stay in Dubai, and the agent then took them back to Muscat. After working there for the whole day, when they were kept under surveillance in an office, they understood that it would be very difficult to get them out of there. They were neither being paid for their work nor were they being given proper food.

The victim girl stated that her husband had reached Saint Balbir Singh Seechewal's office and found a way to save her. The husband of the victim girl told her that somehow her mother-in-law had come back from there, and because of this, more pressure was put on his wife. The husband of the victim said that Rajya Sabha MP Balveer Singh Seechewal listened to him and immediately contacted the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Milk Housing in Muscat. A few days later, her mother-in-law and then his wife reached Nirmal Kutiya Sultanpur Lodhi.

Rajya Sabha MP Saint Balbir Singh Seechewal said that if Sant Seechewal had not helped her in time, then perhaps she would not have been able to come back from Muscat so soon. He said that due to the deterioration in the health of the mother, she had to go to the hospital. Due to this, he could not come. Rajya Sabha MP Saint Balbir Singh appealed to the secretariat youth to give priority to working in the country instead of living under slavery abroad.

The victim stated that while sending her from here, the travel agents showed her big dreams, but when she faced reality, she understood that the colorful dreams shown by the travel agents were opposite to those. The victim said that she was shocked to know that she was sold for lakhs of rupees. Her relative, the travel agent, had also said the same thing: she had been sold for two years after taking money from her. Her relative, the travel agent, had also said the same thing: she had been sent for two years after seeing lakhs of rupees, and now she would not have any option to return. She said that there are many such girls who are sold by these travel agents, but they cannot find anyone to rescue them.
