Sushil Singh Rinku, the newly elected Member of Parliament (MP) from Jalandhar, recently held a meeting with Sandeep Pathak, Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP, to discuss their plans for the development of Jalandhar. Jagroop Singh Shekhawat, an AAP member, was also present at the meeting.
Prior to this meeting, Rinku and his party colleagues had the opportunity to meet AAP Chief and Delhi's Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal. The discussions focused on strategizing for the upcoming elections and outlining their roadmap for the development of the Jalandhar constituency.
Following these meetings, Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, called for a cabinet meeting in Jalandhar, named 'Sarkar Tuhade Dwar' (Government at Your Doorstep), marking the first time such a meeting took place in the city after Rinku's victory in the Lok Sabha by-elections, breaking the Congress' stronghold.
During the cabinet meeting, CM Mann made several significant announcements. He revealed that the state government has already allocated a substantial sum of Rs 95.16 crore for the beautification of Jalandhar. This investment aims to enhance the city's aesthetics and overall appeal. Furthermore, the Chief Minister reaffirmed his commitment to the promises made before the Jalandhar by-elections, announcing that the road construction work from Adampur to Nakodar and Phillaur will soon commence.
