Jalandhar: In a pursuit to curb the use of plastic 'Poly End 2020' action camp initiated by True Scoop News along with Municipal Corporation Jalandhar organised special Nukkad Natak at Shivani Park (Model Town) Jalandhar. True Scoop is calling it ' “Action Camps” because it time we start talking less & doing more. This action camp was based on action-oriented solutions & practical alternatives to plastic.
The program was gracioused by Mr Diprava Lakra (Municipal Corporation Commissioner Jalandhar), Mrs Babita Kaler (Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation), Mr Nitin Kohli (Industrialist), Mr. Girish Bali (Additional Commissioner Income Tax), Mr Jagdish Raja (Mayor), Mr BK Virdi (Joint Director GST Jalandhar), Mrs Sonia Virdi (Social Activist), Mr Anil Kumar Arora (Model Town Association President), Mr.Lally Ghuman (Model Town Association Chairman), Ms Meenal Verma (Environmentalist), Miss. Khyati Kohli (MD of True Scoop News) and Mr. Rakesh Behal (Chief Editor True Scoop News), Mr Tarun Sikka (Gymkhana Club Secretary), Ms Aruna Arora (Model Town Councilor), Mr Bavnoor Bedi (MD of Pyramid E-Services).
In the event, the True Scoop team alerted people of Jalandhar about plastic-borne diseases. The event was started by a special performance of ‘Josh Band’. After then a special team of actors from Ludhiana performed Nukkad Natak to aware people of stop using plastic. What won everyone heart was a special poetry performance by a UKG girl. Environmentalist Meenal Verma also shared some alternatives they can adapt that can curb demand for plastic.
Mayor Mr Jagdish Raja enlightened people of Jalandhar by telling them how plastic is affecting our daily lives. He also shared information about growing problems due to plastic all over the world and urged them to stop using plastic immediately.
MD of True Scoop Khyati Kohli shared some alternatives that people can introduce into their daily lives by which they can avoid using plastic. She mentioned how people can take selfies at selfie points installed at various restaurants of Jalandhar to support the campaign.
