The Punjab Police on Saturday claimed to have averted planned target killings in the state with the arrest of four operatives of Prema Lahoria-Vicky Gounder gang. Along with the miscreants the Jalandhar Police commissionerate, led by Jalandhar CP Swapan Sharma managed to recover six pistols. Reportedly there was an exchange of gunfire between the arrested and the authorities.
"In a major breakthrough, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police in Punjab (led by Commissioner Swapan Sharma) said it has averted planned target killings with the arrest of four operatives of Prema Lahoria-Vicky Gounder Gang after an exchange of fire," Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said in a post on X.
The police have recovered six pistols as per the DGP "@PunjabPoliceInd (Punjab Police) is fully committed to eradicate organised crime in the state," his post went on to say.
