The special drive was supervised by ACP Model Town Jalandhar from 9th to 11th November between 8 PM to 11 PM, in the areas of Police Station Division No.4 and Division No. 7 in Jalandhar.
This operation was carried out by the SHOs of Police Station Division No. 4 and Division No. 7, with police station teams and the support of the ERS teams. This special drive is the part of Commissionerate Police Jalandhar’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and deter illegal activities around wine shops.
The aim of the operation was to prevent the sale and consumption of liquor inside vehicles and outside the Ahatas, ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order in the vicinity of these establishments.
During the operation, a total of 125 vehicles were checked. Breath analysers were used by the ERS team to detect alcohol consumption in suspected cases.
A total of 41 challans were issued during this special drive including 11 challans for drinking and driving, 5 challans for two-wheelers without proper number plates, 12 challans for not wearing helmets, 5 challans for triple riding, 2 challans for black film and 6 vehicles were impounded for lack of documentation.
