Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has successfully conducted a comprehensive traffic enforcement drive over three assigned days during the week, issuing 127 traffic challans, impounding 26 vehicles, and checking a total of 650 vehicles to promote road safety and address traffic violations.
Special nakabandi and checks were conducted at sensitive points, markets, and other crowded areas to ensure compliance with traffic regulations. Enhanced foot patrolling was carried out in markets, shopping malls, and other high-footfall zones. A total of 127 challans were issued for violations of traffic laws. A total of 26 vehicles without proper documentation were impounded and 650 vehicles were inspected for compliance with traffic laws.
Major violations addressed by the police included triple riding on motorcycles, impounding unauthorized motorcycles, removal of black films on car windows, verification of vehicle authenticity through the Vahan app and prevention of underage driving.
Police stations across Jalandhar city operated under the supervision of their respective ACPs to ensure effective enforcement. ERS teams provided on-ground support and rapid response during the drive.
