Following complaints, the administration in Jalandhar took action against illegal shops at Burlton Park. The police from Station 1 conducted a raid today, targeting over 100 unauthorized shops despite licenses being issued for only 20. Originally, the administration had granted licenses to 20 shopkeepers, but the number of shops in the area has surged to 108.
During the raid, police checked the licenses of multiple shops. According to the authorities, they received information that over 100 shops had opened in Bulton Park without proper authorization, leading to today’s action.
Police reported that they are taking action against firecracker vendors operating without licenses. Station 1 in-charge Harinder Singh, along with a police team, conducted the raid and rounded up some shopkeepers. The raid sparked panic among the shop owners as police enforced stricter regulations on unlicensed businesses.
