On Tuesday, 10th September, the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation and the traffic wing of the city started investigating the Model Town area of Jalandhar, Punjab. Initially, the officers cleared the footpaths and started seizing the vehicles of the individuals who have put wrong number plates on their vehicles or have put black glasses on their vehicles.
The boards that were kept on the road were broken and removed by the officers. During this incident many showroom employees started protesting against the officers. Public and officers had a heated argument as well.
This decision of investigation was taken after the meeting was held by the Police Commissioner regarding the traffic of 9th September in the city. On Tuesday, 10th September, a huge force of traffic police and team of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar took this action in the Model Town area of Jalandhar.
This action was taken in the evening. Initially, the police started charging fines from the vehicles and seizing them in the market area of Model Town Jalandhar. Vehicles with black glasses were also seized. Officers removed the black glasses from the vehicles.
During this incident a Thar vehicle was caught and seized by the officers. The Thar vehicle had black glasses and a weird number plate in which the word ‘NAGNI’ was written. The word ‘Nagni’ means opium in the Punjabi language. The police caught the vehicle, removed the black glasses from the vehicle and then removed the number plate of the vehicle. Behind the weird number plate, the original number plate of the vehicle was found. Police seized the Thar vehicle.
