Real vs Reel: Is Ram Setu a true story based on a 'mythical bridge' connecting India and Sri Lanka?
Starring Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and more, Ram Setu is a action thriller which will rocking the audience after its theatrical release. Ram Setu is a fictional story based on the famous mythological and religious theories revolving around the bridge connecting India and Sri Lanka. While Ram Setu's story might be fictional, it's plot revolves around the chain of shoals off the southeast coast of India that many believe is the bridge to Lanka mentioned in the Ramayana.
As mentioned in Ramayana, Ram Setu was built by the monkey army of Lord Army who was on his way to Lanka (now Sri Lanka) in order to free his wife Sita who was abducted by the demon king Ravana. Interestingly, there are tons of controversies revolving around Ram Setu. Among the many is Muslim community call the same bride as Adam’s Bridge. For the unversed, Islamic legend suggests that Adam used this bridge to reach Adam’s Peak in Sri Lanka, where he stood on one foot for 1,000 years in repentance.
