This Sunday morning there was exchange of gunfire in an encounter between police and gangsters in Nakhawale Bagh. Jalandhar Commissioner Swapan Sharma revealed that that he had received information from the control room that there was an exchange of fire between the police and gangsters of CIA staff in Nakhawale Bagh. During this, both the gangsters were injured in police’s retaliatory firing. The gangster were identifed as Ashwini, resident of Phulewal, and Nitin, resident of Jalandhar. They were being traced by the police for several days due to a suspected assasination in Jalandhar.
Divulging further details, the Commissioner revealed that the accused were in direct contact with Jaspreet a.k.a Lucky, a close aide of Lawrence Bishnoi, and were here on his orders. Lucky had provided refuge to two shooters of Sidhu Moosewala in Mohali. He further revealed that they were planning the execution of 2 individuals on the orders of Lucky, who currently operates out of the US.
The Commissioner further revealed that the duo were planning an assassination of 2 individuals in the state. On the basis of this information, they were being tracked by the police for quite a few days. Sources reveal that the police team had surrounded the car of the accused on Sunday morning following which the incident occured.
Sources revealed that when the police team surrounded the i20 car of the accused, the accused sitting on the driver's seat fired directly at the police from inside the glass. The bullet hit the policeman's turban. After which the police also retaliated. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma has confirmed the encounter and said that the policeman is safe. Two accused were shot.
Both the gangsters were injured in the encounter. One policeman was shot in his turban, but fortunately escaped harm. The accused have been arrested and further investigation is being conducted. Police have recovered their weapons and their car. According to police sources, both of them are involved in gangster murder and ‘supari’ killing. CIA incharge Surinder Singh Kamboj said that the accused are associated with Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The accused were fugitives in several cases registered with the Jalandhar City Police.
