Presiding over a meeting along with Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mr Navjot Singh Mahal, Mr Sharma said that the retail shops would not be allowed to open in any kind of situation.
Sharma also said that the milk and vegetable vendors will be given curfew passes by the administration and they will be allowed to sell these essential items door to door area wise. The vendors will have to ring the doorbells outside each house and will not sell the milk and vegetables by parking the carts at one place in the area as it will create the issue of the crowd.

Apparently, the District Magistrate asked the Verka Milk Plant and Mandi department to ensure the supply of milk pouches and milk powder and vegetables to the vendors twice a day and directed them to deliver the curfew passes to the vendors early in the morning.
He asked the police department to ensure the vehicles of the food and milk supply, newspapers, LPG cylinders and staff of hospitals including, doctors and paramedical staff and others do not face any kind of the problem.
Varinder Kumar Sharma further added that the staff of IT communication companies must remain unaffected. He directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to ensure the supply of essential commodities remain uninterrupted supply in the district.
