Jalandhar West MLA Sheetal Angural's children were the targets of an attempted robbery on Saturday night as they were returning home from a party. The incident occurred near Basti Danishmanda, where approximately six assailants stopped their car. When the MLA's brother emerged from the vehicle, the culprits fled the scene.
MLA Angural immediately initiated a search for the perpetrators and successfully located some of them around 3:30 PM on Sunday.
The MLA recounted the attack, stating that his son was driving home when a group of five to six youths wielding sharp weapons surrounded their car. Upon hearing the commotion, MLA Sheetal's brother rushed outside, prompting the assailants to flee. One suspect has been apprehended, and police interrogation is underway.
In response to the incident, MLA Sheetal Angural, accompanied by law enforcement, conducted a raid on the hideout of the suspected individuals. The attack, which targeted Sheetal's son, daughter, brother, and sister-in-law, was reported to the authorities immediately, and CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained.
The police have identified the individuals involved, but their motives remain unclear.
