Tracer India, a renowned Indian footwear brand celebrates its 21st anniversary today. With the motto of ‘Every Step Matters’ the Jalandhar-based brand has come a long way since its inception by focusing on affordability, comfort, and style.
Tracer was launched in 2000 by Mr Nitin Kohli with the goal of offering footwear to individuals from all walks of life. His commitment to ensure that every individual in the country has a nice shoe to wear and rely on; this inspired him to quit his father's internationally recognised hockey company, Vijayanti. It took him great patience, hard work and inspiration to turn a start-up into a well-established shoe brand.
The company’s goal is to become one of the most well-known footwear brands in the world and aspires to establish itself as a household brand.
With unique designs, reasonable pricing and the finest quality, the brand aim towards making a better community. The brand is known for its responsibility towards society and supports environmental-friendly production of items and works for women empowerment.
Tracer actively works towards empowering women through its collaboration with Aaghaaz, a non-profit organisation. Aaghaaz seeks to uplift underprivileged women and help them become financially and emotionally self-sufficient.
The NGO aspires to help marginalized women by offering practical training in sewing, computers, cosmetology, English speaking, and other fields. They are also guided in the job searching and employment process after completing the course.
Besides, Tracer organises events and projects that address a range of social issues in our society. In addition, 2% of Tracer's profits are donated annually to support Aaghaaz's
functioning and growth.
In collaboration with Tracer, Aaghaaz has trained 5,000 girls and assisted 1,000 of them in seeking employment.

Tracer has established itself as one of the very few companies that are aware of the concept of "Consumption Vs Contribution" and cares about environment and surroundings. The company claims to use resources mindfully rather than exploiting them. Half of the electricity utilised in production is generated by solar panels in the brand's manufacturing units.
Apart from this Tracer aims to reduce the company's carbon footprint each year.
By the end of this year, the brand aims to make its manufacturing units fully solar-equipped. Located in the manufacturing hub of Northern India, Tracer has a vast online presence, facilitating customers to connect with the brand by various means. In the last 21 years, Tracer has manufactured and sold 1,00,00,000+ pairs and are serving customers all over India.
