Two drunk men drinking alcohol in a car in the posh area of Surya Enclave's Shaurya Green Apartments reportedly started abusing & eve-teasing a girl after she stopped them from consuming alcohol. When the family of the girl protested against it, the drunk men attacked them with sharp weapons. As per reports, the drunk men were living in Surya Enclave's Shaurya Green Apartments as tenants, while the girl & her family were living there as permanent residents. Three people who intervened and objected to the drunk men abusing the girl were attacked and injured in the incident. They were admitted to Johal Hospital in Rama Mandi for treatment late at night.
A case has been registered at Rama Mandi Police Station and 1 man has been arrested. Another man is yet to be arrested in the case. Further investigation is underway. Jalandhar Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma informed True Scoop News that the Police are taking strict action in the case and also highlighted that there is a zero-tolerance policy towards crime against women. CP Sharma informed that the attempt to murder charges will be added to the FIR against the accused. Not only this, Jalandhar's top cop revealed that the accused men were kept as tenants without any Police verification.
Hence, the person's name who gave them the room on rent will also be added in the FIR. As per sources, a builder's name is coming who gave the room of Shaurya Green Apartment on rent. As of now, the official FIR mentions charges- Section 74 of BNS, Section 62 of BNS, Section 115 (2) of BNS, Section 118 (1) of BNS, Section 351 (2) and Section 3 (5) of BNS.
One of the injured persons informed, "Two men were drinking alcohol after parking their car outside the society. Along with this, they roamed around the society and eve teased the girl. When the girl talked to the people of the society about this, the people of the society gathered and protested against them. When the people gathered and went near the car, the men took out sharp weapons from inside the car and started attacking."
