Team India speedster Jasprit Bumrah is undoubtedly the best bowler in the past few years ever since he returned from his injury. Jasprit Bumrah was the man of the tournament in the T20 World Cup 2024 that India went to win in Barbados. For his outstanding tournament, star batter Virat Kohli declared him as a 'national treasure' and advocated for his workload management to prolong his cricketing career for India. Following the World Cup 2024, the Mumbai Indians pacer is enjoying his break and therefore, he recently appeared in a rare interview with a news portal.
During the interview, Jasprit Bumrah was asked about any brand or products that he would not endorse in his cricketing career. Answering this, Jasprit Bumrah said, "I have never thought about it...I might not be doing dating apps I think. I think that does not really go with me."
Interestingly, the question was asked to Bumrah keeping the controversy around tobacco ads in mind. A few days back it was reported that the Union Health Ministry is planning to instruct the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to stop putting hoardings with advertisements for smokeless tobacco products at cricket venues around the country. Apart from this report, Sachin Tendulkar's no tobacco ad policy earns him praise even today.
Notably, Bumrah is also among those rare athletes who have not endorsed tobacco in his career.
