After the deportation of Punjabis from America, memes on Punjabi songs are going viral on the Internet media. In August last year, Canadian NRI and singer Gur Siddhu released a song titled 'Trump'.
This song dedicated to Punjabis is going viral on the social media after more than six months. The song has been viewed by 49 million people on YouTube.
Apart from this, a video is going viral on the social media. The viral video is said to be from Punjab featuring a man who has pasted a sticker that reads 'Deport by USA' on an auto rickshaw and started his new work.
With lyrics like 'De Putt Nu Rok Sake Na Trump', the song is now being used in reels made on deported youth.
The song is one of the many songs that highlight the illegal routes used to enter the US. Sidhu, who hails from Bathinda, released another song 'Snake' in November, which shows the life of illegal immigrants in refugee camps. The Punjabi song America Wala, released by Punjabi singers Rawraj and Ravi RBS five years ago, is also trending on the social media.
Recently, a total of 104 Indians who had entered the US through donkey route and were living illegally were deported to Amritsar on Wednesday, 5th February. People from Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat and other states of the country reached the US through Donkey Route in order to fulfil their dreams.
The deportees were transported by a US military C-17 aircraft, marking a significant operation in the ongoing enforcement of U.S. immigration policies.
This deportation aligns with the U.S. administration’s intensified efforts to enforce immigration laws. A spokesperson from the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi had stated, “The United States is vigorously enforcing its border, tightening immigration laws, and removing illegal migrants. These actions send a clear message: illegal migration is not worth the risk.”
