Earlier, the government had announced that Joint Entrance Exam (Main) will be conducted in four sessions which were supposed to start from February 23 to 26, 2021. The next sessions of the exam will be held between March 15-18, April 27-30, and May 24-28.
"We have examined the suggestions received from students and various quarters and it has been decided that JEE-Mains will be held in four sessions in February, March, April, and May," Nishank had said.
The date finalized for JEE-Advanced is 3 July, 2k21 and In the previous years, students were supposed to score either minimum of 75% in class 12 or be among the top 20 percentile in their board exams, for qualifying for the IIT Advanced exam, to get into any of the 23 IITs.
But year 2020 has been very tough for each one of us in a result of which Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday announced that the JEE Advanced will be held on 3rd July this year.
This competitive exam will be organized by IIT Kharagpur.
The minister added that the exams are being conducted in 13 languages for the first time.

He further announced that the eligibility criteria of 75% marks for the Class 12 board exam has been scrapped for the convenience of students.
As per reports, A CBSE student said: “Sir please remove #75percent_cricteria for admission in NITs and IITs as CBSE cancelled exam in 2020 due to COVID-19 and riots in Delhi for which we are given average marks in 3 subjects.”
Competitive exams like JEE and NEET were also postponed twice this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There have been demands for postponement of board exams which has now decided to be conducted from May 6 in view of the continued closure of schools and teaching-learning activities being completely online.
