Jet Airways International flights on halt till April 18

SBI was likely to decide by Monday that whether it will release funds to keep the jet flying or not. However, no conclusion came forth and the overseas service got suspended for the third time

India second biggest airline by market share, now on the verge of collapse Jet Airways (India) Ltd. said its international services will remain suspended till April 18.

It was reported that the SBI was likely to decide by Monday that whether it will release funds to keep the jet flying or not. However, no conclusion came forth and the overseas service got suspended for the third time.

Jet Airways chief executive Vinay Dube said, "We have extended cancellation of international operations through Thursday, April 19. But he later clarified that the extension was to run through April 18.”

On the suspension of the flight he said the decision has been taken, following the non- receipt of funds from its lenders, who have now management control of the airline following a debt.

Jet Airways overseas operations is carried out by wide-body Boeing B777s and Airbus A330s while it deploys smaller B737s into the Middle East, SAARC and Southeast Asia markets.

There are only seven planes left in the shed of Jet Airways when the creditors confiscated the remaining flights and also the remaining flights scarce money to buy Jet fuels.
