Jobs in Punjab given by Bhagwant Mann Government: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came into power in Punjab with a plethora of promises including improving the education, health, and industrial infrastructure of the state. In the education sector, the Bhagwant Mann government has launched the School of Eminence, in the health sector AAP government has launched Mohalla Clinics, and the Mann government has also walked the talk of giving free electricity to the people of Punjab. All these fulfilled promises are bolstering Bhagwant Mann-led AAP's image in Punjab as it is importing the lives of the common people of Punjab. Bhagwant Mann government has extended its role in the job sector as well as keeping the future of the youths in India. On multiple occasions, the Mann government officials have emphasized the need for reverse migration, and hence, the state government has employed thousands of youths of the state as well. 

Jobs in Punjab under Bhagwant Mann Government

As per reports, the Bhagwant Mann government has given government jobs to 17313 youth so far. According to the information, more than 17 thousand jobs have been given by the Mann government of Punjab since April 1, 2022. The Punjab government has given 17313 jobs in 48 departments in about 5 months. The numbers have increased in the current year- 2024. 

The highest number of recruitments have been done in the School Education Department (4662) (DPI -EE). At the same time, 4374 youth have got jobs in the Police Department. Apart from this, 3600 recruitments have been done in the MCs of the Local Body Department. According to the information, 1091 jobs were given in the Revenue Department while 1097 youth have been recruited in the Electricity Department.

697 recruitments have been done in the Medical College and 520 recruitments in the Health Department. In this way, a total of 17313 jobs have been given in 48 departments.

Not only this, the Punjab Cabinet also approved the implementation of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission for teachers of universities and government degree colleges. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had announced that his government would implement the recommendations of the Pay Commission in the colleges and universities of the state. 

'25,886 Government jobs in mere 10 months'

Reiterating the firm commitment of the state government to open new vistas of employment for youth, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the state government has given 25886 government jobs to the youth of the state in mere 10 months of its tenure. Addressing the gathering while handing over appointment letters to 271 Specialist Doctors, 90 Lab Technicians, and 17 helpers in the Health and Family Welfare department here at the Municipal Bhawan, the Chief Minister said that this venue has witnessed a number of such events in which youth have got jobs in various government departments.

He said that ever since assuming the charge of the office, his government has handed over job letters to 25886 youth in various departments. Bhagwant Mann said that such a whopping number of jobs in merely 10 months reflect the commitment of the state government to ensure the well-being of youth and opening new avenues of employment for them.

Bhagwant Mann on Reverse Migration

Addressing the gathering while handing over appointment letters to 417 youth here at the local Municipal Bhawan in August 2024, the Chief Minister said that the state government has so far handed over appointment letters to 44,667 youth in various departments. He said that this recruitment has been purely done on merit by adopting a completely transparent process. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this has increased the faith of youth in working of the state government due to which they have shunned the idea of moving abroad and are preparing for government jobs here.

The Chief Minister said that all the recruitments have been made completely on merit and the youths have been given jobs after clearing the exams in cut throat competition. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the sole agenda of his government from day one has been to empower the youth by giving government jobs to them. He said that this will make them an equal partner in the socio-economic growth of the country and the state. Mann further said that if in 2.5 years more than 44,000 jobs can be given then the question arises why it was not done in the last 75 years for the well being of the youth.
