In what came as a humiliation for the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, its long-time Chancellor Joe Gow was fired for making a career adult movie industry along with his wife. Joe Gow who was the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Chancellor since 2007 kept his 'adult content' career secret. As per reports, Joe Gow used to make X-rated videos for adult websites along with his wife Carmen Wilson. University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents fired the Chancellor after Joe Gow video came to the attention of the students as well as the members of the board. After watching the viral Joe Gow video, the board reached to a consensus to fire the veteran chancellor.
As per a US media report, University officials learned that Joe Gow and his wife, former UW-La Crosse professor Carmen Wilson, were involved in making adult videos together and also published two books together about making adult films.
Notably, despite being fired, Joe Dow will return to the University as a professor of communication. After Joe Gow leaked video came to the fore, Chancellor was placed on paid administrative leave 'effective immediately'. However, as a tenured faculty member, Gow will eventually return to work in a faculty role. He had announced this year that he wanted to move back into teaching as a communications professor.
UW president Jay Rothman was quoted saying in a statement, "In recent days, we learned of specific conduct by Dr. Gow that has subjected the university to significant reputational harm. His actions were abhorrent."
It is pertinent tp mention here that Joe Gow was the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse's second-longest-serving chancellor before being fired. He appeared in various online adult videos with his wife, Carmen Wilson, using 'Sexy Happy Couple' as their public account name. Interestingly, Joe Gow-Carmen Wilson video has also been featured on OnlyFans and other adult websites.

In an interview with a US media portal, Joe Gow and his Carmen Wilson said that they believe they were fired over the videos, which included sex scenes together. Both said they felt it was wrong for the university to punish them over the videos, arguing that doing so infringes on their free speech rights.
"It’s not what we’re about in higher ed, to censor people," said Carmen Wilson adding that the videos are only available to those who are looking for such content. "If they seek it out, they’re free to do so,” she added.
