The film Mumbai Saga, starring John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi, was released in theaters on Friday and grossed Rs. 2.82 crores on its first day. The actors ahead of the film's release in theaters, stated in their interviews about the films currently in theaters, streaming platforms, and why Mumbai Saga is a cinematic experience.
John Abraham recently claimed that it has been a common industry misconception that only those film dumps it on OTT about which actors are not confident. He also said that nearly 90% of the movies released on OTT were terrible. He added “What I meant was that our films are cinematic moments, and we need to present them on a large screen. On OTT, the first window would appear. Is it true that I adore Netflix, Amazon, Jio, and Hotstar? Yes, absolutely! They, I believe, give us the ability to create much more authentic material. That is not a concern for me. One of my production house movies released directly on a streaming platform, and I am completely satisfied with it. When Emraan and I saw the movie, we agreed that it could only be released on the big screen and not somewhere else. It was brought to the big screen thanks to Bhushan Kumar and Sanjay Gupta. There are films that are made for the platform, films that are made for festivals, and films that are made for the big screen, in my opinion. I believe that each film has its own distinct voice.”
Sanjay Gupta's Mumbai Saga is produced by T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, White Feather Films' Anuradha Gupta, and Sangeeta Ahir.
