In a massive development, a controversial American journalist Tucker Carlson escaped an assassination attempt in Russia. Tucker Carlson recently interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin on the ongoing war with Ukraine. Therefore, Carlson was in Russia for many days. Now, a video of a man surfaced on social media claiming that he was hired by Ukrainian Intelligence to plant an explosive device on Tucker Carlson's car during his Russia visit. Notably, the man was nabbed by Russian Intelligence. As per the man's confession video, it was Russian Intelligence that thwarted the assassination attempt on Tucker Carlson. Below is what the man said-
In the video, the man identifies himself as Vasiliev Pyotr Alexeievich, from Podolsk, a city in Russia. Vasiliev Pyotr Alexeievich, 35, claimed that the "Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine recruited him in November 2023." According to him, in January 2024, he was "tasked with picking up an explosive device from a hiding spot and using it to target a car in the underground parking of Moscow's Four Seasons Hotel." Vasiliev Pyotr Alexeievich added, "I was trained in working with special communications, collecting and detonating explosive devices, and working with caches."
However, what grabbed global headlines when Vasiliev Pyotr Alexeievich claimed that he was initially unaware of the target, but now he knows it was "Tucker Carlson, the American Journalist." However, Vasiliev Pyotr Alexeievich stated that he was detained during the preparation stage. He further claimed to have been promised $4,000 for carrying out the task. Interestingly, the confession video was shared by The Indel Drop.
Notably, X put a disclaimer on Tucker Carlson's assassination attempt video saying, "The source for this is The Intel Drop, a known pro-Kremlin disinformation website and publisher of fake news."
