At a time when PM Modi and the Government of India have pushed the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, a Kanpur Muharram viral video is doing rounds on social media all for the wrong reasons. In what can be called an attempt to disrespect the national flag, the Tricolour was defaced in a Muharram procession help in Kanpur, UP. The Kanpur Muharram Tiranga viral video has been spreading like a wildfire on social media with netizens expressing their anger over tampering with the Tricolour.
In the Muharram Tricolour viral video, a Muslim community used Tricolour in their procession. However, using Tricolour in Kanpur Muharram procession sparked a row when netizens noticed that the Trianga has been defaced. In the Kanpur Trianga Muharram viral video, it can be seen that Ashok Chakra is replaced by Islamic symbols- basically of the Kabba and mosques. Not only this, stars can also be seen printed on the saffron and green colour of the flag clearly showing that the Tricolour was indeed defaced.

It is pertinent to mention here that Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have condemned the act and demanded the Police to take action against the people who defaced the Tricolour during the procession. In fact, they have demanded the Police Commissioner that matter should be taken into cognizance and action should be taken on an urgent basis.
As per India Today, Bajrang Dal's Krishna Tiwari stated that both VHP and 'Dal' have met the Kanpur Police Commisioner and demanded for swift action against 'Gajwa-e-Hind' mindset. "After removing the Ashoka Chakra, a picture of the moon and stars were used. And we are protesting against it as it is a punishable offense," Tiwari added.
Responding to the allegations, Kanpur Police Commissioner BP Jogdand assured them of an investigation into the matter and said if something like this has happened, then strict action will be taken.
