A 9-year-old deaf and dumb girl raped by a man of Sultanpur Lodhi division in Kapurthala and accused has fled after the rape.
Confirming this, DSP Sultanpur Lodhi Babandeep Singh said that an FIR has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act and the accused will also be arrested soon.
According to the information received, a migrant labourer lives in a rented house. Her 9-year-old deaf and dumb daughter was also sleeping with her late at night. Then in the middle of the night her landlord took her sleeping girl to his room and raped her. The father of the victim girl told that when the accused came to drop her after raping her, she woke up. On asking the accused, the accused fled from the spot.
Taking immediate action on the complaint of the victim's father, the Sultanpur Lodhi police got the girl's medical done and registered an FIR under the POCSO Act against the person accused of rape. DSP Baban Deep Singh said that raids are being conducted to find the accused. The accused will be arrested soon.
