Dharwad region of Karnataka saw a multi storeyed building collapse killing one and about 40 being speculated to be trapped in the collapsed building. Fifteen people have been evacuated with six of them injured during the collapse as quoted by the news sources.
Ambulances and rescue engines reached on the spot just few minutes after the collapse took place 400 kilometers north of Bengaluru and the rescue operations are still under process since the last input from the news sources.
The building is surrounded with hundreds of locals helping in the rescue operations as the pictures and the videos show.

Reports suggest that there were 60 active shops on the first floor of the building and there was a construction work going on on the third floor. The building is reported to be just two years old.
Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy also spoke on the crash ordering the Chief Secretary to supervise rescue operations giving him the option to airlift the injured if required.
"Shocked to learn about the collapse of an under-construction building in Dharwad. I have instructed the Chief Secretary to supervise rescue operations. I have also directed the CS to send additional resources and expert rescuers by a special flight to Dharwad," he tweeted.
