IPS Arjun Maitra is a fictional character for “The Bengal Chapter.” It is to be noted that in the first season of the series - Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, the IPS officer was a real-life inspiration from IPS Amit Lodha.
Showrunner Neeraj Pandey has confirmed that the IPS officer shown in the current season is not based on any real-life police officer, but he clarified that the show has been inspired by the geographical, political, and criminal landscape of West Bengal.
