Khalistani in Punjab is trying to get back on its feet. The Khalistan flag was hoisted by an unidentified person at Baghapurana Tehsil complex at around 9.15 am today. The flag was hoisted at the tehsil complex for an hour and a half as no officer was present, after which the watchman went up and lowered the flag.
It may be recalled that a similar incident had taken place in Moga a day before Independence Day. The Khalistan flag was hoisted on the roof of the Moga DC office, after which it was immediately lowered and police later arrested two persons in the case and produced them in court and remanded them. Is It is learned that three ASIs of Punjab Police were posted here. The incident was followed by an earthquake in the area.
It may be recalled that a similar case was reported in Bathinda yesterday. The Khalistani flag has now been hoisted at Bhuchho Mandi by some youths who were seduced by separatists. Police were informed when people saw the Khalistani flag flying at Bhuchho Mandi Kanchi on Monday morning.
A video in this regard also went viral on social media. The flag was also hoisted at the Bhucho Mandi Market Committee office while the flag is not visible in the video. Arriving on the spot, DSP Ashok Sharma and Chowki in-charge Gurpreet Singh got information about the incident. He also questioned the staff of the market committee and the watchman but no clue was found. Kent Police Station Narinder Kumar said that the police is investigating the matter and checking the surrounding CCTV cameras.

SSP Bhupinder Jeet Singh Virk, who was living in seclusion, said the incident took place in the dark of night and the search for the culprits was on. He said that the Khalistani flag was nowhere to be seen in the viral video of the market committee office at Bhucho Mandi. This video has been sent to spread superstition. He said that even if this was true then those who hoisted the flag at Bhuchho Mandi Chowk would not be spared.
