King the Land is an ongoing Korean television romantic-comedy series starring the 2 PM member Lee Junho and Girl's Generation member Im Yoonah, who were also rumored to be a real-life couple before both their representative companies denied the allegation, in the leading roles. The show had a slow start in terms of viewership ratings with only 5.075% along with viewer backlash regarding the stereotypical treatment of the hotelier profession and the outdated plot and template of the show. But the ratings have been steadily improving with each episode with the latest 6th episode hitting a new high for the show. According to Nielsen Korea, the July 2nd airing of episode 6 has hit 12.017% all over the nation and 12.607% in Seoul Metropolitan Area in viewership ratings. During the show's critical moment, the viewership ratings even hit 14.4%, breaking the show's personal record.
The drama, which will have 10 more episodes before ending, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 pm KST on the South Korean channel JTBC. The drama will be available for streaming on TVING in South Korea and the streaming giant Netflix internationally, including in India on 13th July 2023 in its original Korean version accompanied by a Hindi-dubbed version for the local market.
The drama revolves around the employer-employee clash between Cheon Sa-rang who is the employee, played by Yoona, and Goo Won who is the heir to a luxury hotel brand, played by Junho. Goo Won and Sa-rang are polar opposites as Goo Won always put on a fake smile while Sa-rang always remains cheerful and sincere towards her work. The clashes between their ideologies and work ethics will surely create wholesome moments for the viewers.
