On 13th January, Monday, a school bus of Khera International Public school and a car collided around 8 AM at Sultanpur Lodhi road in Kapurthala. Both drivers have got injured in the accident. Meanwhile all the children in the bus are safe and are transported to school by another vehicle.
This tragic road accident occurred near village Dhudhianwala on Sultanpur Lodhi Road. The car driver, Naveen Chahal, has got seriously injured in the accident, while the school bus driver of Khera International Public school, Karnail Singh, has sustained minor injuries.
There were around 15 to 20 children on the bus. The car driver was immediately admitted to RCF Civil Hospital. ASI Harpreet Singh, in charge of the Road Safety Force (SSF), stated that their team arrived at the incident spot and is conducting the rescue operation. Both damaged vehicles were moved to the roadside to clear the traffic. The police are investigating the matter.
Previously, on 27th November 2024, a private school bus belonging to Tara Singh Memorial School had collided with a motorcycle, leading to the tragic death of an 8-year-old girl in Kapurthala. The accident left the motorcycle riders, a couple, and their 1.5-year-old daughter seriously injured.
Seerat, an 8-year-old girl, who was seated at the front of the motorcycle, died on the spot. Her father Simranjeet Singh suffered fractures in both legs, while the younger daughter Bani also sustained injuries. This bus, which was reportedly speeding, was carrying children to school.
