The Chandigarh Administration has moved the venue of Punjabi singer AP Dhillon’s concert on 21st December. Now, the venue has been shifted from Sector 34 to the Rally Ground in Sector 25.

Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav said, “We have decided to change the venue for AP Dhillon’s music concert from Sector 34 to Sector 25, and the organizers have been informed about the relocation.”

Why did the concert's venue shift?

The Chandigarh Administration has taken the decision of changing the venue after getting complaints from local traders and residents regarding traffic disruptions, noise pollution, and business losses that was caused during the live concerts of Punjabi singers Karan Aujla on 7th December and Diljit Dosanjh on 14th December in Sector 34.

Due to the inconvenience faced by the city residents during such events, the administration has now decided to avoid hosting large gatherings in Sector 34.

The representatives of the Sector 34 Market Associations have said that the traffic restrictions cause loss of business and after such events, it takes a lot of days to clean the trash left by visitors around the venue.

The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal president, Charanjiv Singh has praised the decision made by Chandigarh Administration and said, “This will save the general public from inconvenience and traders from loss of business. We hope no permission for holding such shows in Sector 34 ground will be granted in future by the Chandigarh Administration.”

A police official said, "The high-decibel noise from a live musical concert could severely disrupt hospital operations, affecting patients, especially those in intensive care units. Additionally, the venue is near Panjab University and the residences of judges, further compounding concerns about noise disturbance and security."
