A defamation case had been filed against Actor Kangana Ranaut by lyricist Javed Akhtar. Although the actress counter complained against Javed Akhtar as she alleged him of invading her privacy and extortion.
In a statement, Kangana accused Javed Akhtar of threatening her and also mentioned that she had lost faith in the Metropolitan Magistrate’s court located in Andheri.
The court had informed Kangana that in case she failed to appear in the court the next day, an arrest warrant will be issued against her.
Kangana’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee has said that Kangana had filed a counter case and that both the case will be heard on the 1st of October. After Kangana came to the court the case was adjourned to the 15th of November.
The case dates back to 2020 when Javed Akhtar accused Kangana of defamation as she mentioned the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in an interview with a news channel.
While on the 9th of September, the Bombay High Court had dismissed Kangana’s plea which suggested putting down the criminal proceedings initiated against her on the basis of the complaint made against her. Kangana’s lawyer revealed that she had been refraining from filing a complaint against Javed Akhtar considering his age, but after the matter got out of hand she took permission from her family to file a counter-complaint against her.
