The little baby named Miloszek Malysa was born with a defected heart and needed immediate medical attention. The infant’s family could not afford the amount for the medal care that the baby needed and was looking for financial aid.

On an interview Maria mentioned that “ I didn’t spend long thinking about this, it was the first fundraiser I came across and I knew it was the right one.”

The money collected will be a great help for the little baby who will now be treated at the Stanford University Medical Center. “It’s with the greatest pleasure that I give to you, Zabka, my medal which for me is a symbol of struggle, faith and the pursuit of dreams despite the many challenges, she said, as she gave the medal.

She also added that, “I hope for you it will be a symbol of the life of which we fought for together.” After the company won the auction they announced that they will be handing over the medal back to the Olympian.

They also mentioned that they were moved by the thought of the Olympian and her willingness to help and wanted to contribute. “Therefore, we decided to support the collection of funds for the sick Miloszek.
