Controversy erupted after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was accused of feeding 'rejected dog buiscuits' to the party's workers during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The video went viral on social media after Congress shared the video hoping to win the netizens' hearts. Sharing the video, Congress wrote, "A brief pause for a paw-some furry friend".
However, BJP's IT Cell Head Amit Malviya shared Rahul Gandhi dog video with a questionable caption in which he claimed that Gandhi fed the biscuit rejected by the dog to a Congress Worker.
This sparked a massive row as a section of social media users shared the video claiming that Rahul Gandhi actually fed 'rejected dog biscuits' to Congress workers. However, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday finally broke his silence.
On the viral video of him feeding a dog during the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra', Congress leader Rahul Gandhi says, "...I called the dog and the owner. The dog was nervous, shivering and when I tried to feed it, the dog got scared. So I gave biscuits to the dog's owner and the dog ate them from his hand. I don't understand what's the issue with it."
On being asked about BJP's allegations that the man was a Congress worker, he says, "No, where was he a Congress worker. I don't understand BJP's obsession with dogs."
