Actor Mukesh Khanna famous for his role in the Indian Superhero drama series ‘Shaktimaan’ has landed himself in a furor coming from Netizens over his sexist remark during one of his episodes.
The veteran actor issued derogatory cum controversial remarks about girls on his YouTube channel Bheeshm International. In one of the episodes posted on the channel titled “Kya aapko bhi aisi ladkiyan lubhati hain?”
Mukesh Khanna started this episode on the note of a ‘Love Jihad’ angle taking reference to a separate video from a Hindu priest. He went on to say, “Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ‘I want to have sex with you, wo ladki, ladki nahi hai, wo Dhanda kar rahi hai (girls who desire sex and ask for it are sex workers)."
The remark made at a stretch had relevance to women’s character which became the point of contention, the actor further said adding to his statement stated above, “Kyunki is tarah ki nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nahi karegi (Because a decent girl belonging to civilized society would never say such things).”
People are fuming on the internet with such remarks coming in from an actor. One of the users wrote, “This happens when no gives a damn about you and you are dying for the limelight.”
People have taken a clipping of his statement and shared it on social media platforms. Several others leveled his remarks as derogatory and asked the actor to get himself treated.
The video is still available on his YouTube channel and has over 54,000 views. Mukesh Khanna is yet to issue any statement on the incident.
