While the internet continues to remain on buzz over the India-Maldives diplomatic row, India's online booking travel company, MakeMyTrip on Monday launched a unique campaign to counter Maldives. Raj Rishi Singh, Chief Marketing and Business Officer, MakeMyTrip, on Monday, announced that the company is launching the 'Beaches of India' campaign in order to inspire and educate people around the world about the beauty of Lakshadweep and other parts of the Indian territory. Not only this, MakeMyTrip informed that ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Lakshadweep island, its on-site search skyrocketed by a whopping 3400 percent.
Raj Rishi Singh, Chief Marketing and Business Officer, MakeMyTrip in a video message said, "Lakshadweep has seen a remarkable 3400% increase in on-platform searches ever since PM's visit. This inspired us to build a 'Beaches of India' campaign. Under this, the customers can get knowledge about the beaches of India. We are also providing remarkable deals and discounts under this so that they can live this experience and see these beaches for real."
Notably, the MakeMyTrip campaign in favor of Lakshadweep comes after EaseMyTrip suspended all the flights to Maldives on Sunday in solidarity with India. For the unversed, three Maldives ministers used derogatory language against Prime Minister Modi and passed racist slurs against Indians after the PM of India visited Lakshadweep Island and urged the people to explore India's union territory as well. This irked Maldives and the ruling government ministers started to spill venom against India.
