Late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's father Balkur Singh recently reacted to Lawrence Bishnoi's viral video call. Balkaur Singh accused the Centre and the State Government of shielding Lawrence Bishnoi and giving him hotel-like facilities in jail. Not only this, Balkur Singh also shared his conversation with Rahul Gandhi over gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. For the unversed, Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's video call on Tuesday went viral on social media. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was seen wishing a notorious Pakistani Don happy Bakrid in his video call. Notably, Lawrence is the prime accused in Sidhu Moose Wala's murder case as well. Below is what Balkaur Singh said on Lawrence Bishnoi-
Balkaur Singh was quoted saying, "I had also said earlier that Lawrence is being given hotel-like facilities in jail. Now it is clear that there are big people or big criminals in Pakistan on his video, he is also in cahoots with them. All the leniency, right from weapons to everything, is going on with them. But it is surprising that neither the center nor the state, no one is paying attention to our words. What will we do even by giving information? They know everything."
"Lawrence is working with the support of the government. I had a conversation with Rahul Gandhi too. I told him the same thing what is the meaning of keeping him in Gujarat jail by imposing section 268? It means to keep him safe. He has committed so many crimes in Punjab and has gone to Gujarat jail. Now see this is a video call from Gujarat jail on June 16. He is wishing Eid Mubarak. Just like we make normal video calls, he is making calls in the same way. He has all the freedom. There is no such thing as custody. This is a black business, he is running it without any fear."
Lawrence Bishnoi Video Call Investigation
An investigation was launched after the viral video raised security concerns and the ability of criminals to operate freely even from behind bars. On Wednesday, a Gujarat crime branch official was quoted saying that the video was not recent and was not from the Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, where Bishnoi is currently lodged. The official claimed that the video was recorded nearly two years ago.
