In Jalandhar, Punjab, businessman Sachin Agarwal has complained to Phillaur Police and DSP Sarwanjit Singh after receiving a threatening call demanding ₹25 lakh. Agarwal was at his ice factory in Saifabad on the evening of July 21st when he received a call from a number in Dubai.
The caller claimed to be a representative of Lawrence Bishnoi, telling Agarwal that his name was on a bullet and demanding ₹25 lakh. Details about Agarwal's businesses, such as an ice factory, a computer weighbridge in Ludhiana, and an Anaj mandi in Phillaur, were mentioned by the caller, who had been spying on Agarwal for six months.
After missing three calls, Agarwal answered the fourth call at 4:11 PM, receiving the threats. The caller instructed him to have the money ready and to call back with the code word "Ram-Ram" once the amount was prepared.
Even though the matter was reported to the police on Monday and a formal complaint was filed on Tuesday, nothing has happened as of yet. SHO Sukhdev Singh of the Phillaur police station confirmed that an investigation is presently underway and promised that the accused would be located and placed under arrest soon.
