In a heartbreaking development, ace South Korean movie star Lee Sun-kyun died at the age of 48. Lee Sun-kyun, who starred in the Oscar-winning psychological thriller Parasite, was reportedly found dead in a car in Seoul, South Korea at 10:30 am on Wednesday. The Korean Police then confirmed Lee Sun-kyun's death. Lee Sun-kyun was among the most loved Korean stars who won a 2021 Screen Actors Guild award for Parasite in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category. Not only this, the 48-year-old actor's film Parasite became the first foreign language film to ever win an Academy Award. Lee Sun-kyun played Dong Ik in the hit film Parasite. Talking about Lee Sun-kyun's death reason, ET suggests that the Parasite actor died due to apparent suicide. However, multiple Korean media reports suggest that Lee Sun-kyun's cause of death is being investigated for suspected drug use at the time of his demise.
Reports further suggest that the actor's wife earlier contacted the Police and informed them that she had found a suicide note at home and thereafter, the cops started to search for him.
Notably, before the Korean star's death, Lee Sun-kyun was being probed on suspicion of using marijuana and other illegal drugs. Not only this but Lee Sun-kyun was also accused of partaking in illegal drugs at the home of a high-end bar hostess multiple times since the beginning of the year. However, the actor clarified that the hostess tricked him into doing the drugs.
