Amid the covid 19 crisis, India’s legendary singer and Bharat Ratna receiver Lata Mangeshkar has contributed Rs 7 lakhs to Maharashtra chief minister’s relief fund for the covid related works. A spokesperson close to the singer has confirmed the on Saturday.
In return the Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has expressed his gratitude to the legendary Bollywood singer for her support in this difficult time pandemic where even a little help can do wonders. CM has also requested the citizens to contribute whatever they possibly can to fight this war against the novel coronavirus and also for the ongoing free vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group. To be noted that the vaccination drive has started on May 1 for the age group of 18 to 44 years. Meanwhile, may 1 is also celebrated as international labor day and also Maharashtra day in the state.

Many Bollywood celebrities have been trying to do their best to raise funds and amplify covid resources. Actors like Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and many others are using their social media accounts to spread awareness to fight the war against covid together. Earlier this week, the Deputy Chief Minister said, despite facing a financial crunch the MVA government has decided to give the free vaccine jabs to all youth- around 5.70 crore-in the 18-45 age group”.
Meanwhile, the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has launched a Marathi music album on the occasion of Gudi padwa. The album is a collection of 10 devotional songs in Marathi sung and composed by her brother Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
