The living environments and standards of today's youngsters and adolescents have rapidly changed over the last few decades. There is no doubt that this change has had a significant impact on the upcoming generation. Today's youth and adolescents live in a world that is vastly different from the world in which their parents and elder siblings grew up.
When youths feel safe, they are remarkably open about themselves and their opinions. For creating such an atmosphere, one should be certain in gaining their confidence and keep a nonjudgmental approach. To get into the thoughts of the youth one should be open-minded and be extrovert and must recognize the youth's aspect.
Family, career, personal life, particularly how they spend time during the night, has evolved drastically in a lot of aspects concerning the previous generation.
New media innovations have provided us with more information about daily life. The main factor of change in youth as compared to the previous generation is that electronic media is playing a significant role in the social lives of young people which is also affecting their lives and the forthcoming generation.
It is no surprise that nearly half of the teens and youths prefer their mobile phones over all other gadgets when it comes to the question of what teens love the most and why shouldn't they love using phones above all? Smartphones can connect teenagers to everything they care about either something personal so that they can search on the internet; socialising with friends and making partners or even getting into relationships via social media apps either by texting or by facetime.
To consume various types of content on OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar or Voot and entertainment such as online gaming like PUBG, Free Fire or online shopping smartphones are the go-to gadgets.
But on the other side, advancement in technology doesn’t mean that youths are not facing any issues, instead, they are facing issues that no previous generations have ever seen or thought about. Some of the most prominent issues that teens suffer every day are Drug Issues, Stress Issues, On-Screen Violence, Sexual Violence, Depression, etc.
Young people are a limitless source of energy and as their parents and elders, one should always encourage and inspire them, listen to their unique views and opinions without judging or discriminating against them because today’s youth are lifelong changemakers and will also help the upcoming generation to grow.
