Seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 are underway. Polling in all 13 constituencies of Punjab is going on. As such, Punjab voters are very enthusiastic to cast their votes. 9.64% of voters cast their vote across the state in the first two hours of polling. People are also casting their vote early in order to avoid having to stand in long queues in the scorching heat.
Due to EVM machine malfunctions in Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, and Bathinda, voting was delayed. In Bathinda, AAP candidate and minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian had to wait to cast his vote due to the EVM malfunction.
As such, here are the percentage of votes cast in the first two hours of polling, i.e. from 7 AM to 9 AM in all 13 constituencies of Punjab.

- Anandpur Sahib: 9.53 %
- Bathinda: 9.74 %
- Faridkot: 9.83 %
- Fatehgarh Sahib: 8.27 %
- Firozpur: 9.83 %
- Gurdaspur: 8.81 %
- Hoshiarpur: 9.66 %
- Jalandhar: 9.34 %
- Khadoor Sahib: 9.71 %
- Ludhiana: 9.08 %
- Patiala: 10.98 %
- Sangrur: 11.36 %
Punjab set the record for highest voter turnout in 1967 elections with 71.13%. Not only this, that year saw Punjab churning out the highest voter turnout of the whole country. In 1967, India recorded a voter turnout of 61.04%. Lowest voter turnout ever recorded in 1992, when militants boycotted the elections in the presence of increasing terror activity, and to protest the government at the time. A voter turnout of 23.96 % was recorded.
